đ§ The field of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) is growing at a rapid pace. That’s why it is important that we let ourselves continue learning about it. Naomi is full of passion and wisdom, I am sure you’ll have many key takeaways from this conversation.
Itâs a good idea that you familiarize yourself with what’s the latest with Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT). Every patient needs to be looked at from a variety of approaches in order to be successful in treatment.
Join me, Claire Jeong, RDH, MS, and Naomi Amador, RDH as we dig in deeper with Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy.
Naomi Amador is a Registered Dental Hygienist and Orofacial Myologist. She was trained as a myofunctional therapist at The Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and is currently pursuing the next level as a Qualified Orofacial Myologist through the prestigious Neo-Health Services.
Her advanced training in the latest techniques and advancements in the field of preventative dentistry fueled her desire to continue learning more about the root causes of dental decay, periodontal disease, sleep-disordered breathing, and orofacial myofunctional disorders.
She has a strong belief in educating others in the oral/systemic links to improve her patientâs overall health. She has a special interest in sleep as it relates to oral health and prides herself on being an âAirway Advocateâ.
She “accidentally” found a passion for Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy which she shares in this episode. She also has some helpful insights on what the new grads can do!
We believe that everyone deserves to be educated about Myofuncitonal Disorders and treated if they suffer from OMDs.
